Ter Stegen breaks his silence and opens up about helping Barcelona: "There have been completely unfounded things said."

Marc-André ter Stegen broke his silence this Friday after Barcelona opened disciplinary proceedings against him and stripped him of his captaincy. In the ongoing conflict he has with the club following his injury and the notification of the injury to La Liga, the goalkeeper offered to help resolve the "unfortunate situation."
For the first time, Ter Stegen agreed to sign the club's authorization to send his medical report so that part of his form could be used to facilitate the registration of newly signed goalkeeper Joan García.
"These past few months have been particularly difficult for me, both physically and personally. Like any player, after suffering an injury, my sole priority has always been to get back on the pitch as soon as possible, motivated solely by the desire to help the team and do what I love most: competing. In recent weeks, many things have been said about me, some of them completely unfounded. Therefore, I feel it is necessary to express my version of events respectfully, but clearly," the goalkeeper said in his statement, not mincing his explanation.
"The decision to undergo surgery was made after consulting with medical professionals and was fully approved by the Club, always with the intention of prioritizing my health and my long-term sporting career, objectives that are of course completely aligned with those of FC Barcelona, with the aim of being available as soon as possible to continue fighting for titles. Furthermore, I publicly announced the minimum recovery period I would need, which was communicated to me by the most reputable experts and always in coordination with the club," he continued.
"I'd also like to make it clear—following some speculation—that all of the Club's signings and contract renewals were completed before my surgery, so at no point could I have considered that my unfortunate situation, with the new operation I had to undergo, was necessary for the registration of other teammates whom I deeply respect and with whom I look forward to sharing a dressing room for many seasons to come. Any other interpretation seems both unfair and inaccurate to me," he added before ending with a message to the fans: "Many things can change, but there's one thing that never will: I love you, culers!"
